Getting your materials ready

Measuring up your frame loom

In this video you are stepped through measuring up your frame loom. It is worth taking the time to complete this section methodically and accurately as it will mean your warp is properly aligned, which results in a satisfying weaving experience at the end.

 

Tooth and groove

In this video you learn how to mark up and cut the tooth and groove pattern at either end of your loom. The tooth and groove holds your warp in place.

 

Adding the batons

In this video you learn how to fix the batons to your loom. The batons lift your warp off the surface of the loom and provide space for your fingers to move during the weaving process.

 

Warping up your frame loom

In this video you learn how to thread the warp onto you loom. The warp is the vertical fixed thread through which you weave your weft. Your warp needs to taut and straight.
